Mining and dancing
We continued filming our second film, and part of that is the visit to the mine of St. Barbara in Rude, five kilometers southwest of Samobor.
There are numerous assumptions about the existence of mines in Rude since prehistoric times and antiquity, but its existence has been monitored with certainty since 1481.
The first miners, workers in the mine, largely immigrated from Germany, specifically Saxony and former Austria. We thank our dear friends Miners Josip Lebenger, Miss. Franka Štengl, and dancers from KUD Oštrc for their hospitality, guidance, dancing, mining rake and friendship.
The peculiarity of their dance and the connection with Greek mythology and Vučedol will be shown in our new film.
